Reliance Power Bonus Record date is 29th May 2008
A number of you are searching for the record date of the Reliance Power Bonus issue. Note that the management has announced it - Bonus shares will be issued to all those that own shares as of June 2, 2008.
The company had declared a bonus issue within few days of its listing on stock exchanges in the ratio of three new shares for every five shares held, a company release said. The company’s books will remain closed between 3 June and 5 June for the purpose.
That means you must purchase the share on or before 29 May 2008. On the opening of the 30th, the share will go "ex-bonus" meaning any purchases from then on will not give the owner any bonus shares. The company has 41 lakh public shareholders who will be entitled to the bonus shares. However, the promoters have been excluded from the bonus entitlement.
